New Security Enhancement To Your Website: Limit Login Attempts

It’s been a busy week here at Web Services! Today we have implemented a new security enhancement to your WordPress-powered website: a failed login monitoring and lockout tool.

If someone has entered the wrong login information 5 times in a row they will be locked out of the system for 20 minutes. This timer will reset after 20 minutes (or you can send us an email and we will reset it for you, in case you accidentally tripped it). The system will let you know how many remaining tries you have left before you are locked out.

The feature is intended to stop outside hackers from trying to guess your passwords (also known as “brute forcing” their way into the system). We have designed it to minimize any impact on your day-to-day use of the system, but please let us know if you encounter any issues.
