Exploring Placeholder Image Options
Sometimes, the perfect image isn't available when you need it. In these situations, Web Services can provide some helpful options for placeholder images. Placeholder images are images that you can use temporarily until you find the right one. They help keep your website looking complete and professional, even when the final image isn’t ready yet. We strongly recommend not using placeholder images that you have created yourself or have a direct line of contact with the owner to eliminate the possibility of copyright violations that can result in a legal action and/or substantial bill from the original owner. Why Use Placeholder Images?- Maintain Professionalism: Placeholder images keep your site looking polished and organized, even when you're waiting for the final images.
- Consistency: They help maintain the layout and design of your page, ensuring that everything stays in place and looks right.
- Flexibility: Using placeholders allows you to work on other parts of your website without waiting for the final images.

Avoid Using Internet Clipart/Stock Photos Without Permission
Using clipart or photos from the internet can cause problems for your department. You might have to pay big fees or face legal action from the owner of the image. Remember, Web Services offers free images and icons through the Media Library's UF Photos and Icons tabs. Publication Services also provides graphic design help for your site, as mentioned in a recent newsletter. Please feel free to reach out to us at webservices@ahc.ufl.edu to request a meeting or ask any questions about free resources for your needs!

Tags and categories: conflicts and how to use tags
|
What are tags? Tags are a way to group content on posts and pages under a common topic or person of interest. When should I use a tag? We suggest using a tag when you have content on your website already that you’d like to easily lump together. Use a tag when you want to easily group related content on your website. Tags create a URL on your site that lets users click on a tag to see all related content. For example, if you have a faculty member with a profile page and several posts about their research, you can tag all these items with the faculty member's name to connect them. Why would I use a tag instead of a category, and what is the difference? Tags and categories are similar but work differently on your website. Categories are only for posts, while tags can be used for both pages and posts. For instance, you can use a tag to group different types of content, like pages and posts, under the same topic. Categories can be organized into a parent and child relationship, while tags remain flat and aren’t dependent on one another.

Update to Gravity Forms Notification Emails
An update was made to all Gravity Forms notification emails on April 25, 2024. The sender email will default to messages@ufhealth.org if the email previously added to the notification is not a UF email address. While you can customize the sender's name, you cannot change the email address the message is sent from. This change helps ensure that email notifications pass spam filters and reach the recipient's inbox. It was necessary because of new rules imposed on all email senders from major email companies such as GMail, Yahoo Mail, and others.

Important Update for Gravity Forms Users
Did you know? Gravity Forms has fields that can result in the creation of posts on your website. Using these post fields can cause unwanted posts to be drafted or even published on your site. This makes it easy for spammers to quickly add lots of unwanted content to your site. Instead, you should replace these post fields by standard fields whenever possible. These Post fields are: Title, Body, Excerpt, Categories, Tags, and Post Image. To protect your site, collect this information using standard fields instead.
