Update to Apollo 2 websites: Enhancing security and reducing spam
Web Services has updated our public websites to better block unwanted traffic and reduce spam submissions through forms. A new firewall will now block unwanted bot traffic. In the past, some of these bots were overloading our website servers and slowing down websites. Additionally, we’ve added a new version of reCAPTCHA to all forms. If your forms already have the previous version of reCAPTCHA, you will need to remove it to avoid having two captchas on the same form, which could be confusing for users. The new reCAPTCHA version works more transparently, in the background, and will not require most visitors to answer any questions. To update your existing forms with reCAPTCHA: - Edit your web forms and remove the existing “reCAPtCHA” field.
- Save your form. The updated captcha will be automatically applied, even though you won’t see it in the editor.
Please note that with this update, some form submissions might be mistakenly filtered into the spam list on the website’s back end. Periodically check the "spam" section at the top of your form entries list to ensure no legitimate submissions were marked as spam.

Web Services welcomes Lauren Nigri as the newest member of the team!
We are thrilled to welcome Lauren Nigri as the newest member of our Web Services team! Lauren joins us as a Web Designer and will be working with our Gainesville team. A proud graduate of the University of Florida, Lauren brings valuable experience from her work with UF’s Dance Marathon, an annual event organized by students to support Children's Miracle Network Hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. In her new role, Lauren will contribute her design skills to a variety of exciting projects, from marketing websites to functional web applications, helping us enhance the look and functionality of the web products we support. We’re so excited to have her on board!
Here is Lauren in her own words: Hello! My name is Lauren, and I’m excited to be joining UF Health as the new web designer. I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in digital arts and sciences and a minor in computer science. Originally from Rhode Island, I was sure the Florida heat would melt me, but surprisingly, I’ve actually grown to enjoy it. I’ve had a love for drawing and illustration for as long as I can remember, and in college, I discovered my passion for combining art with technology. What excites me most about design is the opportunity to create beautiful, intuitive user experiences that solve problems for people. When I’m not working, I am usually thrifting, practicing yoga, listening to Chappell Roan, or journaling. I am super excited to take on this role and cannot wait to meet everyone!

How to Use Blogging on Your Site
Blogging can be easily added to your website. The purpose of blogging is to share brief pieces of information when needed. Blogging can be effectively used for purposes such as news updates, announcements, or highlighting faculty achievements. To begin blogging, create a post for each topic you want to share. Once these posts are published, you can display them on your homepage using the Recent Posts block. WordPress was originally created for blogging in the early 2000s, and it remains an excellent platform for this purpose. Additionally, blogging can enhance your search engine rankings by allowing you to answer questions, promote projects, and share research.
