As the UF Health social media manager, you’ll bring UF Health’s mission of patient care, research, education and community health and wellness to our community, the state and beyond.

What YOU’ll DO

Social Media Management

Develops posts for our flagship social accounts and reshares content from our partner accounts that are relevant to our audiences.

Social Media Listening

Works with our strategic communications, patient experience teams and leadership to address issues found through social media posts.

Effort Reporting

Provides reports on the results of social media campaigns and makes recommendations on best practices and future strategic directions.

Training and Governance

Works with a subcommittee to review new social media account requests and strategies and develops training resources for social media coordinators.


The social media manager is part of the Web Services team, but works closely in conjunction with the UF Health Communications team. We are all co-located at the UF Health Professional Park in southwest Gainesville.

UF Health Communications

The manager works with the marketing, news and publications team, and creative services department, who provide copy, video, photo and graphic design assets for social media campaigns.

Social Media interns

You’ll assist in hiring and then mentor and train interns to assist with our social media properties. We have a half-time paid social media intern that reports directly to this position. In addition, we can also bring in for-credit interns from the University of Florida.

Strategic Communications Liasion

A member of the strategic communications team has a half-time role with your team to help manage social media listening tasks and to compile reports for senior leadership.

Assistant Director, Web Services

You’ll report to the Assistant Director of Web Services, who is responsible for web and social media strategy for UF Health’s clinical properties. Together, you’ll help draft overall best practices and guidelines for social media use in the academic health center.

BENEFITS and compensation

$50,000 Minimum starting salary. Salary is determined based on level of experience. (Minimum Pay Rate – Hourly: $25.48; Midpoint Pay Rate – Hourly: $35.54)

Professional Development We provide a professional development stipend for attending conferences, on-line training and certifications. The stipend becomes available at the end of the first year of employment.
