Provider Profiles
Introducing UFhealth.org 2.0

Header section from Provider Directory

Patients are increasingly searching for as much information as they can when making healthcare decisions. That’s why we’ve updated our online provider profiles. The new features we’ve added provide a more engaging and patient-friendly experience while also highlighting the depth of expertise of our UF Health experts.

Research

One of the key advantages of receiving care at an academic health center is that patients benefit from the cutting-edge research conducted by the organization. We’ve expanded our provider profiles to offer more information about research being conducted at UF Health:

  • UFHealth.org pulls ongoing research studies directly from OnCore and matches current studies to provider profiles on the site. Patients can easily see which clinical trials are being offered and which providers are leading them. The brief research study summaries on provider profiles help convey the depth of knowledge many of our providers possess, and also show we’re operating on the frontiers of medicine.
  • Research data visualizations allow patients to see the areas of research concentration for each provider in a visual and engaging way. At a glance, patients can get a feel for the impact of the research on the healthcare system and can better understand  our providers’ expertise.

Expanded Representation of Health Care Teams

In the earlier version of ufhealth.org, profiles were limited to physicians. This did not provide a holistic view of the health care team a patient will work with during and after their visit. Our 2.0 site can now import and display any individual within the UF Health Directory, in order that we provide a patient a clearer picture of what they can expect.

Direct Appointments for Existing Patients

Existing patients will be able to see available appointment times for primary care providers on the site, without needing to login into myUFHealth. They will be able to select a time and then complete the appointment request within myUFHealth.
